Week 25: Baby Shower Planning
Finalize the guest list, confirm the host, and share the registry
If a baby shower is happening, the planning should be underway. Traditionally someone else hosts, but there's no shame in coordinating behind the scenes. This is also a good week to double-check your registry — make sure it has items at every price point and that nothing critical is missing.
What's happening this week
The baby's nostrils are opening and practicing breathing. The spine is strengthening with 33 vertebral rings, 150 joints, and 1,000 ligaments. The baby responds to touch — pressing on the belly may get a kick back. She may experience heartburn as the growing uterus pushes against the stomach.
Your checklist
0 of 4 completeTypical timing: weeks 28–34. Confirm the host, date, venue, and guest list. Share the registry link with the host at least 4 weeks before the shower so it can go on the invitations.
Make sure the registry includes items at various price points ($10–$200+). Check that you have essentials covered: diapers (various sizes), wipes, feeding supplies, sleep items, and at least one big-ticket item. Remove anything you've already purchased.
Don't buy a huge supply of newborn size — babies grow fast. Stock up on Size 1 and Size 2. Buy in bulk when they go on sale. You'll go through 8–12 diapers per day in the newborn phase.
Heartburn is common in the second half of pregnancy. OB-approved options: Tums, smaller meals, avoiding eating before bed. For sleep: a pregnancy pillow (C-shape or U-shape) can help with comfort as the belly grows. This is a great gift to buy her.

Pregnancy Pillow — Queen Rose U-Shape
Full-body pregnancy pillow that supports belly, back, hips, and knees. Most pregnant women swear by these from the second trimester onward. Washable cover is a must.
Baby shower planning typically falls between weeks 28 and 34, but the logistics start well before that. By week 25, the guest list, venue, and host should be confirmed. Registry links need to be included in invitations, which should go out 4–6 weeks before the event.
For the registry itself, aim for a balanced mix of price points. Not everyone can buy the stroller — include plenty of $10–$30 items (onesies, burp cloths, books, pacifiers) alongside the big-ticket items. Most registries allow you to add a diaper fund or group-gifting for expensive items. Don't forget consumables: diapers, wipes, and diaper cream are always welcome and always needed.
